You're not verified or processed yet, I don't think. That's why it says N/A.

Date Certified is the date you certified the application. Date Submitted is the date you submitted the app. The date printed is simply that. If you're still listed as active on the welcome page then you're not processed yet.

bah humbagh... and the day that i had submitted, all of my transcripts were already in so i dont know what the hold up is... grr

My transcripts were in mid-june and I have been active since July 28. Still waiting.....

I've called several times and I've just been told "it takes us 4 to 6 weeks from the time you went active." I don't get it. Why does it take so long? Why don't they hire more people to verify?

Hi there,

There is at least one hint of a technical problem at AMCAS that may be delaying the whole application process this year. I just received an e-mail from Albert Einstein Med. Coll. that included the following phrase: "...our mail has increased almost three-fold as "fallout" from the AMCAS software problems, and it is taking us a bit longer to process applications...". 🙄

Good luck to you guys still waiting for AMCAS to pull through; hopefully the wait won't be too long.

how can i get them to find out if something is wrong with my transcript?

I called this morning and the guy was like, yeah. we can't do anything. just sit it out. I asked if he could figure out if anything was wrong. and he said, no, I can't do anything about that. I asked what happens if my app isn't verified even after 6 weeks. He said call us. I said, what would you do? He said, just stick a note on your file saying you called.

So thats like, nothing?

I have never dealt with such an inefficient organization. At least now their phone message no longer says we have a larger phone call volume due to the projected release of the April 2003 MCAT scores. Though they do still have the power outage message!

I've called 5 times and I've been told the same thing: "your transcripts have been recieved on June 30th and you've submitted on July 28. It will take 4-6 weeks from that date to complete the verification process." Sigh, people are already getting interviews from the schools I've applied to and my application is still sitting on someone's desk on top of a cup of coffee no doubt. Oh well, at least I've completed more then half the secondaries. Best wishes to everyone and let's pray that our stuff get's processed quickly.

me too... I submitted july 28th. Not yet verified, but looks like we have 2 weeks to go. It should be verified by mid-September at latest. So much for applying early!

Ms. Dawson, what might have helped was that even before i submitted, all of my transcripts had been received by AMCAS so it was just a matter of sending the application in... but like it was said, 4-6weeks according to my friend and it seemed about right (glad it was earlier and not later - all the august MCAT takers are going to slowly start sending their information in)

I am going to submit my application today. They have had my transcripts since early june. Any idea as to how long it will take to be verified. I am taking the MCAT on September 6. Do you think they will have it verified when the scores come out?

Riiight. that of course makes sense. except my transcripts were already in before handing in my application as well. not to mention you seemed to have gotten 'active' and 'verified' in about three weeks. a process, they said could take up to 8 weeks (4-6 weeks for going from active to verification) another 15days for getting from verification to processed. I doubt anyone can make much sense of the process truthfully. I am done trying and have already sent in my formal complaint via email and phone calls will come next week.

Active since July 28th, Verified AND processed today. Luckily no 15 day wait for me! Weird part is the transmitted dates are in July. This whole thing makes no sense, but I am finally processed! I thought this day would never come!😍

Wierd isn't it? I can't believe it myself. Got it this morning. I think it was probably processed yesterday and it finally got through the database today?

Did you call AMCAS up? I called them everyday during my 4th week - I think that helped. Don't worry, you'll be verified soon.

I was processed on Saturday as well. Here are my dates:

Submiited: 7/18
Transcripts Recieved: 7/24
Processed: 8/31

Took 'em long enough. I'm ready to be buried in secondaries now. 🙂

i applied for the class of 2001....aamcas screwed up my primary app by putting an "F" where no "F" belonged...it took me until JANUARY to get it fixed..by which time it was sooo late in the process, i should have just asked for my money back....so if it takes a few weeks to get it verified, at least it didn't take five months to get it right.........
i still got secondaries, and tried writing letters and telling the schools it was aamcas' fault, but they still saw that "F" on there, and that's all she wrote....i think i deserve my $1000 back!!!!🙄

Does that mean am I applying to both? Yes. Unfortunately, being older and with family, choices are limited as to geography. I will admit my first choice is a DO school, but I think my grades and scores are on par with MD schools also....so I am doing both to increase my chances of being in a certain area AND in medical school. Of course AACOMAS had my application processed in July...probablybecause of less applicants.

My AMCAS was active 8/11 and finished today which was sooner than I expected. It should be a fun weekend of secondaries!

Ugh! This is so annoying! Myapplication went active on 7/30 and still nothing. The really annoying thing is that I am a reapplicant and absolutely NOTHING has changed on my transcripts since last year. I graduated before the first time I applied and haven't taken any new courses. Why is it taking SO long!

Any words of advice? My emails to AAMC just get the standard response with no helpful info at all.

You can be active and still receive secondaries, right? I am not verified either! BB, maybe you can finish all your secondaries while u are getting them. Why is AMCAS so slow? I sent transcript requests for both AMCAS and AACOMAS at the same time, however, aacomas received my transcript in 3 days, and obviously, amcas would take a long long long long long time to do everything!!!

You can get secondaries from schools that don't screen. However I got one from a school that screens but I haven't been verified or processed. Cna't figure that out, but I was happy to get it.

Gosh, Please AMCAS process my stupid application!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
