FP doing obstetrics only

Does this ever happen. Can a FP label/advertise himself obstetrician if he did an ob fellowship and only wants to do ob? I know most will say why not just do ob/gyn, but why waste time on the surgical gyn part if that is not what you want to do. The reason for doing FP is that once you are done with ob, you can always fall back on FP.

I think that would be unethical. You would NOT be an obstetrician. You would be an FP trained to deliver babies. There's a difference.
 
As an FP doc I gotta say, "Ewwwwww." I love OB but the BEST part is following up with the babies, watching them grow, doing their mom's follow-up care, etc. You know, the FAMILY part. 😉
