i was on call too yesterday, figured i'll get home at 1pm (have to right haha) ended up being around 1:45, then thought I'll watch a movie or something. Next thing I know I get a page at 4:30 because the Mg sulf did not get in on a particular patient because the IV infiltrated about halfway through dose (by the way mg was like barely low, but you know IM 🙂) and she wanted to know if she needs to start another IV before discharging the patient home (which I also wrote for at 10:30AM). Then I guess I fell asleep again and woke up at 8:30. UGh!! now i'm not sleepy!

--wonder if the patient went home....

Sheesh. Just 8 hours? I'm a 9 hour person myself. Count yourself lucky. 🙂

Truly, I prefer 10. 9.5 to 10 is what I will sleep if no alarms are placed etc. 😴 😴 but I can function okay (with caffiene) on 8. Any less and I am toast.

(and I did like the frozen crack but I like BSG even more. 😀)

i think "frack" was a favored expression of bill the cat....

Wait, I'm confused. I saw the thread title and thought this was a topic about frozen crack.
Hmm. Let's talk to Carvel. See what we can put together.

I'm on a stretch of nights, and have to force myself to stay up on my day off. This also sucks. My apartment is pretty boring right about 3:30 am.

I've noticed that I sleep a lot longer these days as well. I used to do fine with 7 hours/night, but now that I'm on a rolling schedule I will easily sleep 9, 10, maybe even 11 hours. I don't know if it's the constantly changing schedule, my getting older, or what. At first I thought it was just to repay deficits, but it seems to hold true even after my "debts" have been paid. Anyone have a theory?

oh yeah...thanks for clarifying...

No problem. I was a Bloom County addict in college. Maybe if I'd paid more attention to school and less to Bloom County I would have finished med school in 1994 instead of 2005.

Oh well. At least I have some great lines memorized. And several cute stuffed animals. Those are obviously well worth it.

Take care,
Jeff

I'm in the same boat. Been on nights, had tonight off, but back tomorrow. So it's 2am, and I'm not really tired. But I'm a little bit tired. But mostly I'm bored.

Movie and some popcorn, anyone?
Or frozen crack. Whatever. 😉
