Just got the email saying I've been accepted! :soexcited:

Who else is in?!

I'm still waiting to hear from my top choice (Puget Sound), but I'm just so grateful to have an acceptance! 🙂

Congrats! Ive been emailing Franklin pierce back and forth a lot. They are waiting to see my fall grades before making a decision. My academic update has been taking forever. But I did get As in two of the prereqs in the fall so I'm hoping for the best!

I'm cheering for ya! 👍:xf::clap:

Thanks 🙂 just curious.. What kind of time frame did they give you to reserve your spot?

In the acceptance letter, it says to send the acceptance form with the $500 deposit by February 13th. However, I called to see if I can get an extension to March 15th, which the dean approved. She said I just need to send the acceptance form to reserve my spot and pay the deposit by my extension date. I need to hear from my top choice before I send in this deposit, because it is non-refundable.

Cherokee,

I've also been accpeted to FPU but would like to hear back from my other choice before committing the $500 non-refundable deposit. What did you mention to them to be able to get that extension?

I have an interview at another school coming up so would like to see if I get in there first before making the decision.

Why does FPU seem to be students "back up" choice? Is it because it is small and individualized-thus more personal which I view as positive? Is the overall DPT Program just mediocre though fully accreditated w outstanding faculty? Is location in the sunny southwest an issue? Or is it the expense of a private school?

I can only speak for myself, but Puget Sound was always my top choice. I used the other three schools that I applied to as backup choices.

I don't have a problem with FPU, I just like Puget Sound better (location, clinical experiences, facilities, etc.)

Seamar756,

I told them that I needed time to save up the $500 and asked if I could have an extension on the due date for the deposit. Then, 2 days later, I got my acceptance for my top choice and I informed FPU that I would not need the extension because I committed to another program.

Not sure why, every program has its pros and cons, in my case the pros from the other schools outweighed the pros from FP
