Free CE for students?

Dentists always tell me that there are plenty of opportunities for dental students to attend continuing education courses at reduced tuition rates or even for free. But I never see any references to these student rates when browsing CE offerings online.

Do you have to call in order to obtain these price breaks? Or are student discounts really not as prevalent as I've been lead to believe?

Check with your state's dental society. They should have a reduced rate or no fee for dental students to attend their annual meeting (at least in NC this is the case). There is also a Hinman Meeting in Atlanta that a lot of my classmates go to and there is reduced rates for that one as well. Your best bet would be to check w/ academic affairs at your dental school.
