Well like the title says I am thrilled about my scoress!!!! No I did NOT get FRAPPED!!!!! When I was done with my test I asked the guy who was working there to fold my score sheet coz I didnt wanna look at it until I get to my car. While I was walking towards my car with the score in my hand my heart was beating so fastt and I was sweating. When I opened that sheet oh my godd!!! I was yelling and crying at the same time lol. Too emotional I know!! but I worked so hard for this and I would have gone nuts if I had done bad. So here are my scores....

PAT - 18 👎
QR - 18
RC - 19
Bio - 23 97.9% 😱
GC - 20
Ochem - 21

TS - 22 😎
AA - 20 🙂

This is more than I wanted and I am very happy with my scores.

PAT (18) - I was getting 20-21 towards the end of CDP tests so I did not see this coming. Keyholes were very straight forward. T/F/E - let me tell you the counting line method does not work on the real thing. Coz all of them have same # of lines!!!! That was pretty much the only technique that I was good at. Angles weren't too bad. I had all acute angles besides 1 so I like that. Hole punch was weirdooo!! and that's my favorite section and I am good at it. The folds were simpler than CDP but they had like 3/4 fold on more than 50% of the questions uhh!!! 😡 I am pretty sure I missed atleast 3 questions in this seciton. Cubes were ridiculously easy!! Pattern oh god nothing like CDP at all!! CDP has all the shading design, which I am good at again but the real thing focused on shapes per say. Oh well!!!

QR (18) I am glad I didnt get a low score on this coz I swear I couldnt even answer 11 questions :laugh: Not that I ran out of time, I just didnt know how to solve them lol I had 5 questions on probability 😱 I suck at it!!! After reading the question if my marker doesn't start moving right away I would just select C, mark it and move on. At the end of the section I had 15 mins left and 13 marked questions. When i went back and re-read the questions I was able to answer 2 out of those 13 and had C for rest of them lol. I thought I was gonna get like a 14 or 15 lol. I am usually good at math though (besides prob), but the questions on the DAT were nothing like I had seen before.

RC (19) - I loved all the passages!! they were all so very interesting and not boring at all. I did have about 4-5 tone type of questions on each passage though. And I think that's probably why I got 19 coz i mostly likely missed those since I have no experience with those type of questions. i did not run out of time. I read all the passages, it was more like "superficial reading" than actual indepth, and note down all the keywords.

Bio (23) - Man am I suprised by this score or what!!!!! It was so freaking eassyyy!! I can't even exaggerate. There were only 2 offball experimental type of questions, where I was confused between two answer choices, but besides that I was easily able to answer all the questions.

Gchem (20) - Had like 2 calculations. Mostly conceptual. I was so damn nervous throughout the whole time that I forgot definition of sublimation :laugh:

Ochem (21) - This was straight forward too. There were only 2 questions that I was confused about and 1 of them I felt like none of the answers were correct. I don't know what else I missed here, wonder why I got 21. But I am not complaining 😀

destroyer - awesome like every1 said!!!
schuams - LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! Yes I knwow you are thinking this book is boring. But it wasn't for me. I read this book twice. First time when I was reading it, it was a little annoying coz it was taking me forever to finish the book. But I love it how schuams has little examples which helps me remember better. It also has alot of pictures unline cliffs
cliffs - I read through it once in this last week. It was okay I guess. IF you don't understand anything from schuams, you can refer to this book. Its definitely easier to read than schuams though
kaplan online - I like that they have so many tests, makes you familiar with all types of questions

I really don't know how to prepare for those type of questions. Hmm I guess just go through as many tests as you can like achiever, topscore, kaplan....

can you elaborate on the sciences, esp bio

what did you think it resembled the most? Help would really be appreciated since I take mine a little bit over than a week

Go over destroyer twice and make sure you understand everything. Like I said I read through schaums twice, so I think that helped me too. I think the science classes that I took within this past 1 yr helped me a lot while I was studying for DAT. Eventhough those upper level classes are not pre-requisite for DAT but I think they definitely help you understand a lot of stuff. I also watched a lot of animated tutorials from this webiste. Animations help me remember stuff better, esp ecology, taxonomy, plants, non -human stuff. It has like 58 tutorials and I watched like 51 out of those.

Yea I have been studying for bio the most, and I should do well since I just graduated with a BS in bio and took all upper level bio courses known to man. And I seem to be doing fine on my practice tests, except for the damn Kaplan ones, I'm getting like 18-20 on them because they wording keeps throwing me off. They're frustrating me so much because I know the answer to the questions, it's just that the wording makes me second guess myself. how did you feel your practice exams compared to the real bio? I remember you also posted on my thread when I asked about the Kaplan bio vs the real thing. Again, thanks for the advice.

what do you mean by three fourths fold on hole punching?

edit: never mind, i figured it out. thats a weird fold, i only remember seeing that once in all my practice tests and remember having to skip it cause i couldn't even figure out how it was folding

I don't know how to explain in words. you know the typical half fold. Where they take left side of the square and fold it in half. The real thing had this fold where left one column (out of 4 columns) would be 3/4 filled and would have a little bitty space at the end. Or it would be 1/4 filled and have like not exactly 1 column empty but not even half empty. OR they would have 1 and a half colum empty. Basically half columns full/empty. That threw me off coz I couldn't figure where the hole would be punched when you unfold it.

Awesome job. Those are very consistent scores. I can't wait to feel like you in a week. Were you more comfortable taking the test the 2nd time? Did you feel more prepared?

I didn't buy topscore this time. Trust me you don't wanna look at my achiever score lol but here it is

As you can see I did a lot better than achiever. Achiever is not even 0.0001% close to the real thing.

No actually, I was more nervous. I was a lot more confident last year and I screwed up. So this year it was like so much pressure and I knew that if I bomb this one then THAT'S IT!!

Also, what time of word problems did u have? combination? ratio? rate. anything u remember from those two sections??? thanks

Rc all topics were science related stuff. Can't say the exact name on this forum sorry 😀 but every1 gets different versions, so that's not gonna help you much. I like to read passage first and then answer coz that way I know where the answers are through out the passage and it also helps me answer the tone questions better. I also note down keywords for each passage. I try to finish passage in 6-7 mins.

word problmes were all over places, combination ,age, arithmetic mean, lost of % related, interest. Just try to do as many math questions as you can if you have time. I didn't devote much time to this section. I only did destroyer once, 2 of the achiever tests and kaplan.

I have not been on this forum for too long and I do not keep track of the ID's but I definitely remember you because you have been really helpful and sweet in giving advice so I am glad you did well. you will get into some good schools. great job! now start enjoying your summer.

I have read a lot of posts from you and they have really helped me.

it seems everyone here gets a 20 or higher, its inspiring, but makes a littler nervous.

I'm no good at it either.. haha. But a 21 in QR is really good!! Wow! Nice job, and good luck in the application process. Achiever was more like a downer. EVerytime after taking achiever I just felt like I didnt know my stuff and would make me review my stuff more, just like every1 said. Look at my achiever bio scores seriousssly i thought I was gonna do so bad in bio, but that's the section that I did the best in!!! Just whatever you use achiever, topscore, kaplan whatever always make sure to review your answerss and understand why you chose the wrong answers. Sometimes I would just quickly review that topic if I felt the need to and if I couldnt find that in book I always wiki it. Wiki was open 24/7 on my laptop lol. I love that thing!!!

Yes I remmeber lol!! I am actually good at math but I just can't work that fast and under pressure. For math do not waste your time, if you don't even know how to solve it just mark C or whatever you want and move on. You know what I noticed? The questions at the end were alot easier than the questions at the beginning.....you know what that tells you dont you?

I only used achiever. I wanted to buy topscore but I didn't have time to take another 3 full lengths, so i didn't. But I suggest go ahead and buy both if you can and if you have time. It can only help you. I believe more questions you come across = better understanding for all the sections. This is so true for bio especially!!! GL!! when are you taking yours?

yea i did all the workshops, quizzes, subject tests. But I ddn't do the section tests for Math. Ya you might wanna start getting used to different problems and the timing. Just devote like anywhere from 30-60 mins a day for math for couple weeks. That should be good enough!

I take the DAT on August 30... ughh! I don't have much time between now and then because I'm working full-time in a lab, and then after that ends, I'll be doing RA training for a week and dealing with the new freshmen/orientation on campus. It will be hectic but I reeeally don't want to push it back!

About Achiever... I heard it gives you lower scores b/c it's so hard (as you also said)... So I might buy both, and alternate between TopScore and Achiever tests... haha
