fresh perspective on rad onc

Hello, I'll be applying for residency next summer/fall and I was wondering if any of the current rad onc residents/applicants/hopefuls could offer their insight as to why this field is/was the best choice for them. What exactly makes you excited about radiation oncology? For those who are currently in residency, which aspects of your job do you most enjoy, and which do you wish could be changed?

I have read nearly all of the posts and FAQs on this forum (new and old), but didn't really see much specifically addressing this and was hoping to get some fresh perspective from anyone willing to share.
