From a financial perspective, how useful is getting multiple acceptances?

At the undergrad level, if you get accepted to five schools, you can play them off each other to get the best financial aid package ("School X is offering me this, can you guys beat that?")

Does this apply to med schools too? Or are slots in med school in too high demand for that?

TIA

sp--what happened to your cool avatar yo?

So does this mean that one should go to every interview so that they have that many more schools to play off each other? 😕

Hey,

I've heard one example of this where a person got into his state school (U of Michigan) and Hopkins, and got Hopkins to reduce their tuition to the equivalent of michigan so he could go. Anyone know how this is done?

This really only applies to the absolute best med students (relative to the school) or URM's. So this might make it so you can get a scholarship to a lower med school, but it won't really matter to the normal applicant.

sounds pretty accurate.
