If I get a masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, but then decide to do my Psy. D. with a concentration in MFT after that, will I still have to do the entire five year Psy.D. program or would I be exempt from the courses I've already taken? Thanks.

It just depends. You can probably transfer a handful of classes (not as many as if it were a masters in clinical), but its still probably wont shorten your time very much. It just takes 3-4 years of practicums to get the appropriate amount of clinical training hours to be competitive for internship match. I've heard of people doing it in 3+1 (3 years of the program, plus one more on internship) if they come in with a masters in clinical, but thats generally considered the exception, not the rule. Just depends on where you go, and how much they will take as transfers.
