Hi, I just graduated with a bachelors in Computer Engineering and am now thinking about a career in the field of dentistry. Out of curiosity does anyone know how dental admissions committees look at students who have an engineering undergraduate degree that apply to dental school?

Also, if any of you have personally done something similar, I would be interested to know why you made the switch and if you?re happy with your decision. Thanks!

Heya,

Having a diverse background like a degree in Computer Engineering is definitely good. Even better if you got a strong GPA and strong science GPA, and a good DAT score.

Have you taken all the pre-dental courses in college while you were earning your bachelors? If not, you might need to go to a postbacculaureate program to make up for those requirements first...

Good luck!
