I've started my second semester of 2nd year now and have about 5 months until my exam. I basically spent the entirety of last semester doing GT and am pretty disappointed so far, especially with the functionality/stability of their website. I feel like I have a decision to make at this point of dumping GT and starting USMLERx or Kaplan (saving UWorld for the last 5 weeks).

What would be the optimal way to use Kaplan or USMLERx (any preference between the two?) during my last semester? I'm currently taking pharm, path, micro, and psych...should I just do questions along with my coursework? Would the last 5 weeks of dedicated study time be enough to do the rest of the questions (biochem, physio, anatomy, etc) + UWorld?

Definitely get through USMLE Rx, and definitely get through Kaplan.

Now that I've taken the exam, I realize it doesn't really matter how and when you tackle them, insofar as long as you do. Just get through them. It's clockwork.

Got it. Did you do the Kaplan/Rx Qbank questions on random mode or did you go through them by subject? I plan on doing UWorld questions in random mode for sure.

I went through Rx in tutor-mode and both Kaplan and Uworld in timed-mode. All were random.
