I'm quite distraught because I'm at a Caribbean school and I suck right now. I'd really like to be in the US but don't know how feasible this would be.

3.2C, 2.9S, 500 MCAT.

What should I do? I now know the Caribbean was a dumb idea but I'm leaving after semester 1.

Please young premeds, don't make the mistake I have made. I came to the Caribbean thinking I'd be able to overcome but there's simply no room for any error here. I should have worked by butt off stateside. DO NOT GO Carribean!

My problem is that I've been out of school a little while and cannot get LORs but I want to do a masters and retake the MCAT.

Please help!

I'm so lost and unsure at this time.

If you really want to go to med school still, you need gpa repair. If MD, then you need that plus a much higher MCAT

Look at @Goro ‘s guide on reinvention. It has all the information you need to make a decision

Get out of there as fast as possible and read this:
Goro's advice for pre-meds who need reinvention

Wasn’t this all already hashed out in your other thread...?

You need to take enough science courses at a local college to increase your sGPA to 3.0 . At that point you can apply broadly to DO schools. There are at least 15 DO schools where the MCAT median is in the 498 to 502 range to your MCAT would be fine for all of those .

I took the MCAT in August 2017- could I apply DO next year? If my SGPA is 2.98 I'd just need one course.

Another monkey wrench: what if I was failing courses when I left(not for lack of trying)?

Why did you repost this thread? You got every answer you needed in your old thread, even after being combative and abusive to half of the people who tried to help you. You're even on probationary status because of the vitriol you spewed there.

You even claimed you were just going to try to hack it in the Caribbean in your last post, only to come back here and post this thread?

You will have to retake the MCAT in any case so start studying ... like since yesterday. I hope you can get out of there and all goes well. Godspeed!

Have a lot of turmoil in my life now and just needed clear answers.

What score should I be comfortable trying to obtain?

Idk honestly. That depends on the rest of your application. A high mcat wont compensate for other areas that are lacking like a super low GPA but its better than the 500 you have now. So start reading kaplan etc...
