I've been doing some reading on SDN regarding Chads videos and it seems quite polarized. Some people love his stuff other people have said its a sham. Unfortunately, a lot of what I've read is dated a few years back and it's possible he's made improvements on his material. For example I read a post that his Physics 2 materials are very weak...but those posts were from a few years back. Others said that's not true and it's the best thing since sliced bread.

From the dated posts I've read, I've gathered that Chads Gchem/orgo videos are good and physics videos are OK and his bio videos are mediocre. Again, these were dated opinions from a few years back.

I'm considering purchasing a subscription but I'm on the fence. It really is not unilateral so far from the dated opinions I found that this is a good purchase.

Can anyone sway me one way or another?

I like his videos. I dropped the money on the one month subscription to all his videos. He goes over all the basic concepts really well and does examples during his videos. He also goes over some common tricks and mistakes that students make during questions. Overall, I like his videos and I'm not really a video kind of learner.

I think the best part about his videos is that they are short and concise. Contrary to what people think, more is not always better. Good luck!

I'm using Chad's videos now. And here is my take:
- If you are already scoring a 9 or 10 on practice tests, skip Chad. He basically goes over the content outlines and if you are already scoring a 9+ you need more focused review. There are associated quizzes with most subjects that line up with the lectures (not really so for bio).
- If you are scoring 6-7, are weak in content, I think Chad is perfect prep before tackling full-lengths. I had the misfortune of scoring a 9/10/4 on the Kaplan diagnostic and of course only focused on the bio section only to realize that my Kaplan scores didn't translate to AAMC exams. So ONLY use AAMC exams to gauge progress.

If your on the fence, I suggest getting a 30 day subscription at the end to brush up on your weaker areas (you likely won't get through all the videos and quizzes, but the plan would be to do it only in your weak areas).

I'm using Chad and a NextStep tutor as a last resort to improve an MCAT score that has hovered around 23. I also applied to a post-bac program. I can't tell you the end result since it's all in progress, but I wish you the best of luck. I think Chad is great for the basics, but he definitely needs to be supplemented.

If you're on the fence, you can get access to his MCAT videos for free for a week. You need a credit card, but if you cancel the subscription before the week ends you won't be charged anything.

His gen chem / physics videos brought me from a 6-7 to 10-11 averages on AAMC FLs
My MCAT PS was another level of ridiculousness though, which I don't think anything could have prepared me for.

Take that as you will.

I still feel as though Chad's strengths in General Chemistry and Organic outweigh his presentation of Biology and Physics by a long shot. You can easily tell that his mastery and understanding of the material just isn't on the same level as his understanding and passion for General Chemistry and Organic.

Get his videos because (and I'm assuming his videos are not your only content review) whenever you read something from a book or see a picture it won't make sense to you unless u have some one draw it out while talking about it in detail. That's how I am. If ur weak in content go for his videos. They are an AMAZING supplement to MCAT prep books.
