How does fructose enter the cell?
Page 108 in FA 2012 under Essential fructosuria:
"A benign, asymptomatic condition, since fructose does not enter cells."
Does this mean that without fructokinase, fructose doesn't even bother going inside a cell? Or is it poorly worded and just implying that fructose gets in, doesn't become fructose 1 phosphate so it just builds up and spills out into the blood (which is what I had thought would happen)
