I have been trying to get matched for 4 years.

My scores are in the 90's, all first attempts.

Yet I can't match.

I think it shows the hypocrisy of medicine when we say to patients, you can work as long as you want and you're healthy, but the same people who preach that crap are the same people who institute Graduation date cutoffs and practice age discrimination.

And this has what to do with psychiatry?

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you, but what exactly can we do that can help you? Unless this is psychiatry related, maybe you can post this in the Match section. I'm sure there's plenty with similar frustrations.

Did you have any interviews?

If you didn't, there is a problem with your application. If you did have some, there is a personal problem.

I know the person who graduated in 1992 and had a gap in clinical practice and he had several interviews.

Sorry to hear about your frustrations. It might help if you could give more details about what has happened. How many programs did you apply to? Did you participate in the scramble in prior years?

Well, you had posted in another thread asking if others had prior experiences with professional interviewing services-- some people thought you were kind of rude. Is it possible that your failure to match has been d/t your interviews? I guess they kind of count for a lot in psychiatry.

Some people or one particular self-appointed forum guru??????????????????

Actually I wasn't being rude or abrupt. I defended myself after an incorrect attack.

Here is the thread: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=579471 read it again!

A few observations:

You use caps and repeat ? marks, both of which are considered rude online.

Your moniker is msbhaven, which has meaning.

You haven't apparently matched in 4 years when there are quite a few psych openings in the country that are open after the match.

Your hostility is likely to be obvious to program directors, including ones who are presumably desperate to get trainees.

I don't know the particulars of your situation--and don't really want to get into it--but you should really consider looking into the mirror and perhaps getting some therapy to address the issues that are putting a crimp on your development.

I'm not at all convinced you're a real person. The lovely demeanor you're giving off isn't typical of normal individuals seeking advice from others. Though if you are, ESL courses might not be a bad idea. There are definitely holes in your written English.
