Yeah, B's that close are frustrating. I take it you go to a school like mine which doesn't use the +/- system, so 1 point can make the difference between averaging a 4.0 or a 3.0 into your GPA. As for being fixated on them, I don't think you're doing it any more than any of us would. Even med schools expect us to fixate on them. I remember some school's viewbook (Columbia or Pittsburgh I think) which said something like "We look at more about an applicant than just his GPA, but we do expect our successful med students to have had mainly A's and B's in college (And more A's than B's)"
