Frustrating classmates

Wow! Reading through these posts has made me glad I went to Tufts. We don't have assigned seats (by students or professors). Yes there are areas people prefer to sit in but you wouldn't get yelled at (or even given dirty looks) for "taking" someones seat. There is a fair amount of shuffling around too mostly depends on when you get to class (if your late you get the back).

All this has happened at our school and worse. The Friday before classes started first year, people were reserving seats and the administration had to put a deadline for the earliest you could do that in susequent years.
I've nicely asked 2 people to shut up during class and was rewarded with a door being pulled shut on me by one and the other brought the loudest food possible into class and shared with the class.
Throw in the 3 dui convictions and the 8 other drunk drivers that havn't been caught yet, plus the cheating, like the harboring of a stolen test that 5 students had that blew the curve (11 studetns got D's) and resulted in one student D-ing out, and the vet school classmates are probably the biggest disppointment of my life.
The administration doesn't have the guts to do anything; they've caught cheaters before and the one dude I know they caught keyed the professors car and another student caught him in the act and they still let him graduate. He's actually a practicing vet now! Its BS, but thats what happens when you base admissions 75-90% on grades and GRE scores instead of work history, letters of rec, and interview. Cheaters get good grades, duh....

Wow! That's terrible! We're possessive of our seats here at Tennessee, but no one cheats!

cowperson--Ditto Julie's question...what school do you go to? Please tell us!

I'm speechless...

What school is this?

Sorry, but saying the school would be unfair to some classmates who are actually taking things seriously, and it would undermine any communications with the Deans. And it would be downright unprofessional of me to publicly slander (even though its 100% true; got to hear the 4th years telling each other what was on the boards for the last 2 weeks) a university where they have no way to respond. Only thing I can say is thats its in the USA.

You had to know that everyone was going to want to know what school this is. At this point, it seems a tad disingenuous to say that the school shall remain nameless, since you don't want to slander it.

It's your right to do so, but c'mon, you must have seen this coming. Especially since so many of us on the forum are in the process of applying to schools.
