I posted a similar topic on the pre-allopathic page. I was just wondering what you would think about attend the new FSU med school program. it failed to get accreditation February. This is the second year of the program. Apparently it has the backing of several key state politicians so the school has plenty of funding.

if i were to attend FSU, would this kill my chances of getting into a competitive residency, as they are a new program(assuming they do get accreditation).

Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

Exhausted... so i hope it all makes since

I am not a med student yet, but I do attend FSU as an undergrad. I would say that that if you choose FSU, you better be 95% sure you want to go into primary care...that is after all the whole point of them starting the school. And if you are, then they issue of matching to competitive residencies will be a non issue...because we all know that primary care and family medicine are the easiest to match to.

Just wanted to know what other residents/docs felt about attending FSU, if your not too busy.
thanks

My best advice would be to discuss your situation with your pre-health professions advisor at your undergraduate institution. You might be going on a limb by taking someone's unresearched advice.
