how come you have to rub it in? I wouldn't be so ignorant until I actually got in. What if you did not get in after your interview. You can feel resitment if you were not to get in.

Careful who you call ignorant. Armored tooth went out of his way to criticize a program that he knows little about simply because he wasn't offered an interview there. Had he been offered one I'm certain he wouldn't have had such harsh criticism. Could it be that the ignorance is yours my friend? Resentment, or "resitment" in your case gets you nowhere and it's best you learn that now.

Secondly, just because I received an interview obviously does not mean that I will get accepted and I completely understand that. Regardless of whether or not I get accepted there, it's not going to change my opinion of their program. They offer a wonderful balance between research and clinical work...something that is a big draw for me. This may not be the case for others.

1) With regard to the minority student acceptance this is how it works:

A minority applicant with less credentials than a non-minority student, will never take his/her spot. 1-2% (thats my guess) are not held but preferred for minority students. That means that if not minority student up to par with thier stats comes along, they are filled by non-minority students.

2) The fact that they request your picture (many schools do so), is so that after the interview when they (adcoms) are re-reviewing your file they can put a face to that application and remember who you where. This helps you alot especially if didnt screw up the interview.

3) Stats are just not everything. This is something that needs to be drilled in predents head as I wish someone would have done so to me when I was a predent. Having good stats in you DAT score and GPA is like having your queen in a game of chess. It HELPS alot, but having them doesnt guarentee you admission. So do your self a favor if you have great stats and do not walk around with a false sence of security. Dentistiy is a profession that is in need of professionals who have SOCIAL SKILLS as they are needed a lot. Lets face it, most ppl dont look fw to having dental work. Thus, a dentist need to be more then just a geek, they need to be conforting and a ppl person and the list goes on....

Wrong. Their DAT AA is over 19...as well as their PAT. Their average GPA for last year's class is right around 3.7 with their science GPA being right around 3.6.

I just interviewed this past Friday and let me be the first to say that this school is really great! Beautiful setting, really friendly staff, and pretty nice clinics. You're connected directly with the Mayo clinic and thus smack dab in the middle of a fantastic medical community.

They get a ton of funding for reasearch and just received a few sim labs.

Hate to rub it in, but you're missing out...not them.

Blah blah, I don't care anymore about minne***ta mayonaise school of hard knocks.

Whipee doo if they are connected to the mayonaise hospital.

I wouldn't want to spend my gloomy winters freezing my a$$ off in that "1000 cum puddle" state.

Dental admissions committee tend to be racist. They don't only look at your DAT scores and GPA. Certain applicants based on their skin color get admitted to dental school with 15s and 16s on their DAT. Have you every investigated that?
