1. Is there a medication that has generic name start with letter "J"? If yes, what is it?

2. Let do some random search and comment the most rarely seen/unusual medication combo that you found?
- For me: Juvisync (Simvastatin and sitagliptin)

3. Why do we have a tickle feeling during numbness?

4. What are you going to do for fun this weekend?

1) I couldn't think of anything off the top of my head, but after googling found out that there is a macrolide antibiotic called 'josamycin'. Pretty much everything I thought of was a brand name.

2) There's some kind of combo ED med I read about recently with tramadol ( and maybe sildenafil?) in it, that would probably top my list.

3) Something to do with nerves?

4) Study and write lab reports, lol
 
2. Duexis and Diclegis. Probably others that aren’t coming to mind right now. Take 2 meds available OTC for dirt cheap. Put them in a combo product and charge patients several orders of magnitude more money than they would have to pay otherwise.

Maybe not rarely seen, but utterly ridiculous nonetheless.
 
Do branded generics count? Because then Junel and Jantoven are the two that pop into my head.

Do they still make Valturna?

This thread just goes to show how big of douche bags pharmacist are. I hate pharmacist.

Anyways, my efforts to not be a douche/dirtbag pharmacist:

1. I (cheated and) did a search. didn't see any generics that start with J.

2. Mostly birth controls and diabetes meds (the one's you'd expect as a pharmacist)

3. I remember being asked this on rotation during pharm school. I think they said they weren't "exactly sure", but something about parasthesia?

4. Having meetings and writing grants. Yay.

He meant combo as in Kaletra; a single form containing more than one medication.
 
Lo Losugar is pretty good, I like that.

How could this possibly be homework help? Only number 3 is vaguely academic. Number 4 is personal, and numbers 1 and 2 would be extremely odd homework questions.

Also lets keep it professional and on topic please.

“Fun” basic questions to have very fresh students familiarize themselves with drug information/resources. If it’s really an assignment, kudos to that professor for trying to be creative. Also kudos to this student for already finding SDN for the school/workplace workarounds to game the system.

Apologies if my remarks came off rude... looking for workarounds is very welcomed here.
 
Believe it or not this is not my homework. I'm a P4 student and I can look up these questions easily. My preceptor is a very funny guy so he comes up with these types of questions all the time. Does that make sense to you that a preceptor assigns these questions to a P4 for homework? All of my time is already reserved for journal clubs, presentations, and primary literature 🙂

I posted these questions because I thought they are interesting. Didn't know would get bashed left and right. Anyway, some others do like the game though so it's okay if you don't. Like Owlegrad said, please keep it professional!
 
Well, I have found this thread educational. This is the first I have ever even heard of Juvisync (Simvastatin and sitagliptin). I have never seen an order for Juvisync, must less the actual drug, so I also vote this one as most unused combination drug.

And this, you are joking, aren't you? I am confident the FDA will never approve such a combination....but if they did, it would undoubtedly be a huge seller.

I suppose this isnt great for my credibility but I can't seem to find the post where it was discussed. I'm pretty sure it was discussed on here as a combination ED/PE drug (and not pulmonary embolism either lol...). It may have had something else in it, I swear I just can't find it lmao

At least Contrave’s ingredients both have weight-loss potential in certain patients on their own (specifically those with binge eating disorders). Nuedexta is totally out of left field.
