I've only got a few general education courses to take care of leaving me plenty of room for electives. For a while I was considering taking useful courses ( i.e. Histology, Immunology, and Microbial Physiology) but I decided I want to treat myself and take some fun classes. Tuition is paid for by grants so I feel even less guilty.

I'll be taking Biostatistics, Western Civilization, Global Understanding, Tae Kwon Do, and Brazilian Jujitsu. This is only 12 credits so I have room to take some more classes. Any suggestions?

Also do you guys know how adcom's feel about applicants taking fun, random classes during senior year?

I guess it depends on what you wanna do! 🙂 If I had the extra time, I'd take a language course - Chinese or Japanese. Or I'd take a sculpting/pottery course 'cause that always seemed like fun (also will test your dexterity skills and creativity).

I'm also wondering about senior year classes and adcoms. I'm taking a 2 credit music class that is only about going to school music concerts. I love going to ensemble concerts and such, but I'm mainly taking it to become a full time student (taking 3 other classes - 2 science and 1 history course) for financial aid to kick in properly.
I also have to take an elective course for my degree and I'm thinking about taking this Oceans course (chemistry of the ocean) which is super random compared to the other courses I have taken.

Totally fine! I'm taking German this upcoming fall for a "fun" class I'm pretty excited about it!
