What can I get an ophthalmologist as a present? I'd like to get them a sweet ophthalmoscope/fundoscope, but... i have no idea what I should look for. Any suggestions/advice?

Unless you know exactly what this person wants, and your question suggests not, you should ask. I could suggest what I might think would be a can't miss item (not knowing your budget) and someone still might prefer something else.

Ophthalmology equipment is expensive relative to items bought for general medicine. Getting someone the wrong choice wouldn't do either of you good.
