It'll be nice attending a school with the prospective preseason number one seed going into next years football season, and the number one recruiting class for basketball. It will be a year of sporting heaven. Not to mention one helluva good dental program, if ya know what i mean...

I'll be at OSU! I'm from the Cleveland area and attended Kent State University for my undergrad. I just moved to Columbus 2 weeks ago. It's a culture shock! I'm not used to so many underprivileged people. It's sad. Anyway, go Bucks!!!

Underprivileged people? Where in Columbus do you live? I've heard from a lot of people that Cleveland has a lot more underprivileged than Columbus. Or, am i wrong?

I'm also from the Cleveland area. OSU undergrad (B.A. Journalism 1998) and my Post-Bac prerecs at Cleveland State. In the meantime I work in Web development for a small software company. I have a wife and a 5 month-old daughter.

I lived off-campus (Iuka ave.) for 3 years during my OSU undergrad and if you live anywhere near campus (off-campus) areas then you will see plenty of underprivilidged people and High street is notorious for pan handlers. Having a large underprivilidge population as a result of being centrally located in a large city is a plus and will add to the clinical experience at OSU.

My wife and I plan on living in the suburbs; Dublin, Worthington, New Albany, Gahanna, etc... and will move just as soon as we sell our house in Cleveland.

I have OSU going to the final Four in one of my brackets but getting bounced earlier than expected in another...... GO BUCKS!!!!!

What is everyone planning on doing for housing? apartments or houses? Are you going to stay in Columbus or go to an outside area?

My wife and I are probably going to rent a house in a suburb. We have been debating whether to rent or buy but it looks like rent will win right now. We are trying to sell our house in Cleveland now (Case students, if you are reading this and want to buy my house in the East side suburb of Lyndhurst - 15 minutes from campus - PM me.) We're looking at Dublin, Gahanna, Bexley, Hilliard, New Albany, Upper Arlington and Worthington. I've lived in the OSU off-campus area (Iuka Ave.) when I was an undergrad at OSU (1994-98) and at this point in our lives will never live like that again. It was a blast when I was 20 but at 30 forget it, we don't need to hear thumping base at 3 am ever again - it's just obnoxious at this age 🙂

I'm in the same situation as you. At first I was really set on buying, but after quite a bit of researching, renting is going to be the way to go. My wife and I have been looking in the exact same areas as you guys. There seems to be some pretty nice places there. keep us posted on any good areas/deals you may run into. Thanks
