Hi All,

I submitted my application on Sunday and I was just denied an exemption for a transcript for future coursework. I am enrolled in the school as a non-degree student just to take this course in the spring of 2015. Here is what the message says,

Your request has been denied because an exemption is not necessary. Future/planned courses does not require a grade. After completion of coursework, AACOMAS will require a complete transcript from the school for updating your application. You must be officially enrolled in a course in order to list it in your AACOMAS application. As long as the planned/in progress coursework is listed on the official transcript that AACOMAS receives or has already received, your application will not be delayed. If it is not listed, you will need to send an updated official transcript or a letter of enrollment from the registrar.
Thank you

As I am planning to take the course in the spring of next year, there is no way for me to register for the course this early. Does this mean my application won't be sent to schools until December when I am able to enroll??

Hey,

I'm in a similar situation. I needed to take an English course, but was unable to enroll and put it as planned on AACOMAS as my school allows enrollment only up to 14 units due to budgets cuts. I can only enroll more than 14 units starting August 1st.

However, I just called AACOMAS 5 minutes ago and they said I can put the English course as planned. They will note that on my application and said to send them the official transcript. I guess the best course of action is to call them. I hope this helps in some way!

Thanks, I'll call them after work or tomorrow when I have time, if they don't get back to the email I sent.

So what happens if you're taking a pre-req after submission, but before it would show up on a transcript? Is this just something that AMCAS allows for and AACOMAS doesn't?

This is why you read the instructions first.

"*If coursework reads “Coursework Not Complete” after rolling
over application, you must click on “Add/Edit Courses” for
each institution listed and check the box on the following
page that reads “I have entered all planned and completed
coursework”
. Checking this box does not constitute any change
to your application and will simply mark the Coursework
section as complete. You will not be able to submit your
application until this has been completed."

"AACOMAS cannot approve future courses for acceptance
as repeats."

Update to help others wondering: I called and the "undelivered" my application. I could then delete the classes planned for spring 2015 and resubmit. I did not have to pay again and I did not lose my place in line for processing. Since I am retaking a pre-req in the spring, I will update them at that time when I am able to register.
