Quick question. Would it be ok to put my future credentials at the beginning of a powerpoint presentation when presenting my research project (ex. DMD, MPH 14')? Would that be non-professional? Assholian? Let me know what you think. Thanks!

if you dont have a degree you have write candidate.

i have seen phd students write: phd candidate year(phd candidate 04). So goolge that up.

I write class of 2013 after my emails but for presentations you could do DMD candidate but it seems a bit dbaggy.

Really? :scared:
Who cares! They want to see the quality of your research.

Are you doing a dual MPH or have you earned the MPH already?

Never represent something you are not. It might come back to haunt you some day. The research can speak for itself.

yeah it would also be douchey if you also listed that you are a candidate for an MPH if you haven't actually been accepted by the MPH program and officially enrolled in it.

I did. Last term (UG) I was giving a lecture on S. mutans. I threw the DDS in after my name because - you know- applying, getting accepted and finishing is just a formality.

Almost put in the MD too because I plan to be a OMFS... but didnt. I didn't want to get cocky.

Fair question. Put whatever you want. Just represent yourself accurately.

Honestly, I wouldn't give a damn what or who you are (there are too many doctors out there now, even my optometrist and pharmacists are doctors!) but if I saw a dental student's presentation and noticed that he or she was trying to "show off" the audience with yet to be awarded degree after your name, I would just walk out of the room. Just use the title "dental student", don't try to be something you are not. Wait your turn! 😴

Agreed. Why not "Dental Student" or "Fifth Year Dental Student" or "DMD expected 2017"

AGREED. 👍 The men and women who earn their DDS/DMD degrees worked their @sses off for it and have earned the right to include their credentials in signature. Just wait. It'll mean more once it is 110% true.
