Can anyone comment on the outlook for Neuro IR? Although it seems that IR in general may be looking bleak (due to vascular trying to commandeer the "endovascular surgery"; leaving IR the crappy tasks of CT guided biopsies and line insertions), I have heard that Neuro-IR would have the opposite situation b/c conventional NS don't want to mess with endovascular stuff.

Is endovascular surgery the future? (everything moving towards endovascular)?

I think CutIt and I are clones, b/c I need this same question answered.

Common. You guys have been through these future of a specialty discussions. No one knows. You guys are probably years away from even considering this as a subspeciality choice, so relax.

It is certain that neuro IR will still be a specialty when you are nearing fellowship selection time. It is also certain that if you complete a fellowship in this field you will have a very rewading and well compensated position.
