Future outlook pediatric dermatology

Wanted to see if any recent peds derm fellows or peds derm attendings can weigh in about the field. From what I have read, pediatric dermatology is an area of large demand. From what I've heard, academic medical centers covet peds-derm faculty despite lower reimbursement given the clnical demand.

For us considering peds derm, one thing that bothers me (yes, it's a selfish reason) is whether there are any talks of whether ABD/ABP will start allow pediatrician trained - derm fellowship trained docs start doing peds-derm?

There is no way that the ABD will allow board certified Pediatricians to do a Pedi Derm fellowship and then take the exam to allow them to become ABD certified Pedi Derms. They care about the shortage, but they don't care that much.
