Hello everyone, my apologies if this question has been asked and answered before.

After passing the PLAB, can non-UK, non-EU citizens do their foundation training (FY1,2) at the UK ?
I have a dual citizenship, one of which is U.S., but it seems that being a U.S. citizen does not help that much anymore, as I couldn`t match this time.

Thanks 🙂

I don't know but you'll be subjected to right to work requirements: You need to be able to

to work in the UK**.

5. have the written approval of their medical school dean (or the dean’s nominated

national clinical assessment.

10. supply all relevant documents as requested.

* You are not eligible to apply for the UK Foundation Programme if you obtain, or expect to obtain, full
registration by the start of the UK Foundation Programme.

** The deadline for submission of Right to Work documentation for the UK Foundation Programme 2015 will
be published on the UK Foundation Programme Office website in June 2014.

Please note that whenever General Medical Council documents are referenced, it is possible that revised
versions will be produced after the UKFPO's information has been published. Therefore, applicants should
always refer to the most up-to-date version of these publications.

The foundation programme is almost always oversubscribed so if you don't have a right to work you probably won't get a spot. Also you need to have graduated med school within 2 years of your start date. If you don't have a visa to work in the UK I don't think you are eligible.

Just curious, why wouldn't you want to stay in the US? I can't wait to get out of the UK.
