I'm in a dilemma because I got accepted into two state schools but my top choice is out of state. How easy is it to gain in-state residency during OT school? Or is it even possible?

I'm not sure if it is the same in every state but I had to live in Illinois for at least a year for non-school reasons. I also had to work and make a certain amount of money and file Illinois income tax. It's my understanding that you cannot establish residency in a state, for the sake of tuition, if you are there for school reasons. You can call the school and ask or look on their website, but I don't think you will be able to do it unless you defer your acceptance, move there and work for a year before you a start. I could be wrong, but that's how it was for me in Illinois! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!
