Gap junctions

I am seeing different information in different resources. Some say that gap junctions allow the cytoplasms to mix others say that the connexins prevent the cytoplasms from mixing. Which is true? Also, out of the four cell junctions: anchoring, tight, gap and plasmodemat which is the strongest? And which is the weakest?

Actually connexins make connexons which make up gap junctions. Gap junctions then allow passage of materials/connection between two cells. Also have filaments going through them to hold cells together.

Tight junctions seal the space between two cells like in intestinal lining and are not like gap junctions.

Plasmodesmata is similar to gap junction but in plants.

I wouldn't think of them as being stronger or weaker. They have different functions.
