does it really matter what job we get during our gap year? I really dont think i am going to snag an assisting job (no prior experience). I was looking into substitute teaching and still shadow dentists on the side to acquire more hours just in case I don't get accepted this cycle. what are your thoughts on gap year jobs? what were some of the jobs you guys had?

I think that you should definitely try to get around 200 hours of clinical exposure through shadowing or assisting. I got all of my dental experience first and now I'm working as a substitute teacher and I absolutely love it.

I have about 140 hours of shadowing. I probably can get to 200 before June 5th.
