I have been applying to a bunch of jobs and recently heard back from two - 1. in the dept of emergency medicine where I would be working on a covid-19 clinical trial but would need to be exposed to covid positive patients (with ppe of course) and 2. in the dept of surgery where I would be working on kidney transplant clinical trials and also get direct patient contact (without covid)

I'm also applying this cycle, so which job should I take? Does it really matter what iIdo for my gap year? I am stressed

Which one sounds more fun to you? Which one has a good PI who can write you a great letter of recommendation?
I don't need an additional letter of rec! the first one sounds more interesting but it is more dangerous and not sure if i'd be willing to risk my physical health during the interview season

Hmmm...I was going to say "Be brave!" but you do not want to be quarantined during interview season! Assuming interviews will be in-person.
