Gap Year: Research Assistant?

I am looking for jobs around NYC for my gap year before attending medical school.

I saw a job posting for a Research Assistant position at Columbia New York Prebyterian hospital, where I will be helping enroll patients for clinical studies and collecting data.

Does anyone know how much these positions typical pay?

I would imagine between $10-20/hr. Are you going to be more of a research coordinator? The coordinator I work with is salaried, but I don't know their exact income (probably ~20-30k).
