Hey everyone,

I am going to be applying to UBC Dental School next year. I am planning on taking the November 1st DAT in Canada.

I was planning on working part time and shadowing. Is this enough? I want to get recharged for dentistry school and there is also a biochemistry course I need to take before I can apply (I need 3 more credits).

My GPA is 3.95 in Biology coming from the US.

Any suggestions?

For questions regarding Canadian dental schools ask here.

Your plan sounds good and you've got a competitive GPA. Do well on the DAT, and hopefully you can land an interview at UBC.

Good Luck bud.

Hey 🙂.
I just got accepted this yr to ubc so I'll hopefully see you next yr!
Gap year is fine.
For your gpa, this year's cutoff for interview was 84/83% which is around 3.6-3.7. Ave for interview was 87% which is around 3.8-3.9.
I suggest doing interview prep in addition to the working and the shadowing as after interview, your scores don't count towards your acceptance. Also are you international student? Ubc doesn't take any international student. And takes upto 5 ppl from OOP and their cutoff is much higher (3.9-4.0)
