I just been offered a clinical research assistant position but the job detail consist of only recruiting and entering the data for a large registry.
Is this considered clinical research?
Will this be worthwhile?

I did something similar, and I absolutely loved it. I documented it as clinical research (especially if that's the position), and being able to interact with patients was really rewarding!

Depends. If you can get into a medical school based on your current app, just ask yourself if it's worth a year of your future attending salary.

If you're not applying now, then take it. I assume that you're gonna be a senior this year, so you're gonna need to do something between medical school and college. If you're applying now and you want to wait and see if you get in, then accept the job anyway. Then, if you do get in, call them and let them know that you are going to medical school anyway and thank them for the opportunity.

Take it if you are doing nothing else. Could provide some patient contact on top of the research.

TAKE IT! Super glad I took my gap year, gives you time to gain more experience and truly reflect on why you want to go into medicine.
