I had to take a two-week leave of absence during my 3rd year (family emergency) and I ended up needing to drop a clerkship because of it and took an "incomplete" in another rotation that ran concurrently. When all is said and done, my dean's letter will mention "StudentName took a 2-week leave of absence for personal reasons" and my transcript will say withdrew-passed for one rotation and incomplete-passed for the other rotation.

Family emergency: Close relative relapsed with very aggressive cancer, went home to be supportive for my family.

Question: Is there a space/text-field in the ERAS application where I am able to explain this gap in my enrollment? / Explain that the two rotations ran concurrently together and that's why both were dropped?

There is room to explain any gaps in education. You get 510 characters.
