Gas exchange in the embryo

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
gas exchange is allantois, and I can't remember this straight. food is thru?the liquid around the embryo to support is amnionor the choiron.. what is the function of yolk sac?

the yolk sac provides nutrients for the developing embryo until placenta and all that stuff is formed later on during gestation.

i saw somewhere in kaplan ( i think) that the chorion takes part in gas exchange? or is it only for reptiles?
ooh never mind just found this fact
In birds and reptiles, the membrane adheres to the shell and is highly vascularized to serve in gas exchange. In mammals, it forms the fetal contribution to the placenta, made by trophoblastic tissue and extraembryonic mesoderm, containing blood vessels that allow exchange of materials with maternal circulation.

placenta, for blood and gas exchange in the fetus.

Oh..MG...I completely forgot about other species! I just was thinking about human fetus! So it's allantois for sure. I remember it clearly from kaplan notes, since I just had my Coffee.😀
Also it depends on how the question is worded, because B/W chorion and allantois might get alittle confusing for some people. Not for me, I know there are other species besides us!😉

Allantois: Responsible for respiration and excretion
Chorion: The most membrane that Permits the gas exchange.
Amnion: protection against shock
Yolk sac: Food

I am really confused, I am two days away from my Dat exam and I am doing a question that says: In reptiles and birds, which membrane has the function of gas exchange? the answer is the Chorion but the allantois is one of the options in the answer choices. Can someone tell me if this answer is actually correct, also in mammals how would the answer changed? Thanks beforehand.
