i came across this question in cliff's... " which of the following is a digestive enzyme found in the stomach?

so between gastrin and pepsin, (and pepsin's the right one), for argument's sake, why couldn't gastrin be right? because it doesn't actually do any digesting - it just stimulates the production of HCl?
 
I read that low pH of stomach is necessary for protein to become amino acids.
I am guessing that gastic acid indirectly help this process by lowering pH while pepsin is the enzyme that actually does the work.
