Gates-Cambridge PS Advice?

Does anyone have any advice on condensing everything into the 500 words that Gates provides? It was hard enough with the 1000 words given by some of the other big scholarships, but 500 is ridiculous.

Hey! Speaking as a current Gates scholar, my advice is that you need to really prove your point in a very short passage. Every statement is read within maybe 2-3 minutes, and sometimes even just skimmed through. Although it is read by multiple people, the first and last paragraphs are what really grabs people's attention. You need to make sure you get your point about your leadership skills/achievements or it would be looked over. Only pick the most important parts of your leadership to talk about; they have your CV.
