on BC, I finished BIO tests in around 30-35 min.

Qvault, I finish the tests in 20-25 minutes.

Now I have no idea what would be a good estimate for me to finish the Bio section.

QVault's bio exams in general is easier than BC's. If you finish within 30-35 min, you'll be fine on actual, assuming GC/OC take you 20-25 min max each.

in terms of difficulty, which would you say is more representative? also, I have to say, I really like qvault's biology- there are surprisingly a lot of conceptual questions

I just realized qvault gives us 40 minutes per exam and it tricked me into thinking the wrong numbers. On BC, i finish with 5 minutes remaining.. QVault, 15-20 minutes remaining(which is 5-10 for the real dat)..

Hi Iwergod, timing is never a problem on the Biology section if you go in prepared, it is when questions are given that you can not answer that things can go downhill quickly. I have seen your previous post and it appears you are on the right track. I would worry less about the time and more about knowing the material that can be presented on the DAT. I rarely see a student have a problem with timing unless they did not prepare properly and sometimes if English is a 2nd language(or even 3rd) those students can have a more difficult time due to the reading required in the Bio.

Hope this helps

I agree with Nancy, I only timed myself to see how much time I would actually use when I did the 2007 and 2009 tests, and I ended with 15-20 minutes left for both. On real test day, I had 20 minutes left for the science section at the end to check my skipped questions and then prepare my grids for PAT. I think if you don't know how to approach the problem within the first 20 seconds, and can't answer in 30 seconds, you should skip and come back to it later. if you know the material, but just can't recall the information exactly, you should be able to at least eliminate some of the answers in the first twenty seconds
