Hey I dont understand the awnser choices well i know a catalyst will change the reaction mechanism and Ea but the rate constant i thought that was dependant on temperature and the rate of the reaction is dependent on concentration ??? May be im confusing the two can anyone please help thanks!!!!

the choice says the "specific rate constant" for the rxn not overall
i think thats where the difference is

i think temperature is the only determining factor in change for Keq and Ksp, however, for k rate constant, small k, other factors, like these, do affect it.

I was wondering about this same question...but I still don't get it. What's the diff between a specific rate constant and any other rate constant? And why would the catalyst be able to affect the specific rate constant?

im guessing on this but when i read the question I thought it was just asking about k in a rate equation. for example in a 1st order reaction, rate=k(concentration of A). say we left the concentration of A in two different experiments the same BUT add catalyst to one of the reactions. Well, the rate of the reaction with the catalyst would increase. The concentration of reactants in both experiments were left the same, so k must've changed since the rate for one had increased? That was my take on it. Not sure if it's right or not.

k in rate equations can change with a catalyst but only TEMPERATURE can change the K equilibrium constants. ie. Keq, Kc, Kp, Ka, Kb, etc.
