on one of the topscore tests it says if an electron goes to its ground state energy is emitted....i thought it would be the opposite...if an electron is excited and then jumps to its ground state energy is absorbed...can someone please explain this..thanks

as the electron goes from GS to ES, it will absorb energy, and then as it relaxes down back to GS it will emit light/photon, which would be energy.
