This question is poorly worded and i don't see how they got the answer they came up with... i won't give choices just to see what you guys can come up with :laugh:

In a chemical reaction involving 6 atoms of oxygen and 3 atoms of phosphorus, how many grams of oxygen are required by 3.1 g of phosphorus?

6O~3P =======>
32~31
answer=3.2

okay, yeah that's what i got but acethedat didn't even give that as an option... pretty sure they messed up another one

How exactly did you do that? If you don't mind explaining...

It's a question of stoichiometry.

You start out with 3.1g of P x (1 mol of P/30.97 g) x (2 mol of O2/1 mol of P) x (15.99g/1 mol of O2).

If it's done this way the units cancel out and give you grams of O2.

Oh lol. Wow that is easy. It's been so long I haven't done this in like 4 years 🙁 lol

Thank you
