Hey everyone,

I know I see a lot of topics about getting books (Organic Chemistry as a Second Language for example) to help with Organinc Chemistry, but are there any good ones for General Chemistry I and II? Chemistry is not my strong suit and I will be taking it in the fall. Any advice/ideas on good books or study tools? Thanks!

Chris

Um what EVVVVVVER you do donot get the cliff notes books with practice problems, they seem to only cover the first half of the first semester..
What I have found to work the very best is anything that supplements your text book. We use the Zumdahl Book and the study guide/ homework solutions guide has helped a ton!!
So if the book yall are using has supplemental texts take advantage of them!

Good luck! And remember General Chem is not all that bad! Just do the homework, understand it and you will be fine!

Supplemental texts, such as a practice problem "work book"? How about "Chemistry for Dummies"?

Which textbook must you use next fall?

Working on that. Going down to ECU tomorrow to clean out my dorm (HORRRAYYYYY! 😀) and then I am making a trip to the bookstore to find out what the book is. I will report tomorrow with my findings 🙂

So those books are the best? There arent any other books not asscoaited with the text that could help with better understanding the material/curriculum?

Dude..have you even started the class yet?? If not..just take it as it comes..i have friends who took gen chem at ECU, from what I hear its not much to worry about.

No, Im just trying to prepare before. Trying not to screw up like I did in General Chem for nursing last semester. Cool to know that you actually know people who went to ECU. 🙂
