General Chemistry Question

I had this on a homework.
Which one the three is a better electrolyte?

A. NH4NO3
B.AgCl
C.SiO2

B. Look up in your genchem book the chapter on electrochemical cells.

I'm guessing (chem major) it's A b/c it dissociates well and produces the most ions as compared with Ag Cl. Sio2 doesn't dissociate much I think.

As a chem major, I can say that it is absolutely without a doubt not B. I would imagine it is A, since this molecule will dissociate completely into ions. I don't think C dissociates appreciably, either.

Just wanted to add that it must be A because AgCl is pretty insoluble--don't confuse it with NaCl. All chlorides are 100% soluble except Ag, Hg and Pb.

It is obviously A......B is insoluble (assuming the solvent is H20)...and C is a covalent compound.

You guys are right. I was thinking electrochemistry and got the reductions and oxidations mixed up. Oh to be back in genchem. A is the answer.
