Hi all,

I'm just starting to work on my SMP applications and I had a few questions.

First my Stats:

BS In Biochemistry from a top 20 university.

3.1 uGPA with strong upward trend (sGPA and cGPA are about the same)
My last 3 semesters are 3.38, 3.57, and 3.83.

37O MCAT taken in August (P-11 V-12- B-14)

I have research experience although no publication with my name on it yet. I am currently working toward getting my name on a paper but it really depends on how my data comes out. (I am working on a project entirely autonomously about 30 hours a week. I do every part of the research process and have no one above me other than my PI)

Have volunteered in a neurorehab clinic, and tutored underprivileged children weekly for the past year.

Currently In EMT training, and will have completed the course in spring along with the 80+ hours of clinical experience training provides.

I expect strong LOR's from a non-science professor, the PI of my lab, head of the organization I tutored for, and a Biochem Professor.

So my first Question is am I good candidate for SMP? (my first choice is BU MAMS but will be applying to many others)

Secondly, will medical school letters of Rec suit my post bacc applications?

Finally, will completing all of my applications by the end of February be dangerously late? I hope to have some finished by the end of January but I have a really busy month and am still collecting LOR's

Thanks in advance for any advice.
