I just graduated with a BS in public health. However, in this one (or two) gap year(s), I wanna take some spanish or french courses at a local cc, will they count toward my final cGPA?
I wanted some other courses just for entertainment and some skills' improvement. Does anyone know what kinds of programs that I should register into in that community college? No degree or credits needed so that they don't affect my current cGPA.

Any college class you earn grades for will be looked on as post baccalaureate undergrad coursework, even if it's just for fun, and the grades will be calculated into your med school application GPAs. You will be obliged to submit an original transcript from every college where you attended, even if no grade was earned, like, for example, if you audit a class.

They'll count if you take them for a grade. One way to get around this is to just audit a class or take it as pass/fail (if your school has that option). It won't look bad as long as you get a 'pass.' and at that point your actual number grade won't be counted toward your cGPA for the app.

Is there a separate GPA for postbacc then? If I take that course for a grade, I'll have 3 separate GPA's, right? cGPA (b4 graduate), sGPA and postbacc GPA? (Cuz I see some people have that postbacc GPA which is separated from their college cGPA)
So how important is that postbacc GPA? I know that a lot of people have very high postbacc GPA but very low cGPA. What if I have high cGPA but low postbacc GPA?

Actually I'm pretty sure if you are taking undergrad courses after you have a degree, they are still put into your cGPA. I'm pretty sure the application separates it into cGPA, science GPA and then graduate GPA (if you have them). By graduate GPA it would have to be from an actual grad school. They also have it separated by semester/year taken.

So essentially if you are taking undergrad courses post bac for a grade, you should strive for the highest possible grade because it will still count towards your cGPA and sGPA (if they are science courses).

Undergrad GPA is divided into FR, SO, JR, SR, and Postbac lines. All are calculated together by AMCAS into a cGPA, BCPM GPA, and AO (all other) GPA.
