I was wondering what advantages schools have when they accept students through rolling admissions vs. a set deadline?
My best guess is that they can be sure their class is filled versus chance that they not have enough students, but other than that I don't see an advantage.
Anyone have any insights on this topic?

The saying "There's no guarantees in life" is applicable to filling a class (whether it be for dental school or any other program). Students change their mind, often a day or two before school starts, and *presto* you have a vacancy. As you mentioned, rolling admissions allows a school to fill a class as time goes by and I believe that is the primary reason behind the practice.
