Hey sorry if this has been posted before. I just wondered if there is anywhere to find a good comprehensive timeline of important med school events. Like when to register for each step of the boards, when people start studying intesively for the boards, when to start gathering information about residency programs, when to go on residency interviews, etc. I know all this information can be found in various places but I haven't been able to find one list that puts it all together. Thanks.

Maybe everyone already has all off this figured out. I'll just post my understanding of how it works, and someone please correct me if I'm mistaken.

Step 1 is take usually around June after 2nd year. Most students start studying hard 1-1.5 months ahead of time. I think I read you should register around 5 months before the test? Is that correct?

Match Day is in March of 4th year. Match lists are submitted January of 4th year. I'm still not clear on many of the other aspects of this process, like when to register for the Match, when interviews are done, etc.

I'm also not sure about Step 2. I haven't read that much about it yet, but it seems as if there is some variability as to when this is taken. Is it usually near end of 3rd year beginning of 4th year?

I actually have a lot of the same questions. I am beginning to learn the process, but some things are still unclear. Anyone know the general timetable for everything? Thanks.
