As interviews start for many people, let's share some experiences here. Any tips and hints to help everyone manage a different interview experience for most applicants. Both residency and fellowship interview input appreciated.

As an interviewer some tips I have:

1) Wear a suit/professional attire - act as if you were attending a real interview.
2) Stare at the camera
3) Place camera in location that will show your face and upper body, not awkward angle that might make it seem like you are looking away/down/disinterested.
4) Treat this like you would a normal interview.

1. Camera should be slightly above eye level
2. Look at the camera
3. Invest in a light source (eg a ring light)
4. Invest in a decent webcam, inbuilt webcams in laptops are no way near as good
5. Don't use bulky looking headphones
6. Always have a back up ready (eg phone if your primary source malfunctions)
